After much time deliberating about how we are going to celebrate Hogmanay, we decided that the best way to do it is to spend with family. Unfortunately my condition meant that I was not really energetic and frequent naps were required, so a nice relaxing week at Casa di Galli in Prague was exactly what the doctor ordered.
It was another normal day, until Jojo and I decided to go on an adventure away from Holland. We jumped in the car and in a matter of hours we were in the beautiful city of Cologne, Germany.
I spent the night of Petra trying to find a comfortable position whilst keeping my foot elevated and trying not to kick off the kilo of ice that was on top of it. Actually in the end it really helped! The following morning my dear friend Annie took on a different role – it is really hard to classify it but I will try. Hmmm she was no longer just a friend, she was my bandage fixer, ice getter, wheel chair pusher, drug supplier, cocktail maker and general slave! Continue reading
After a relaxing day on the beach, we discovered a wonderful restaurant that was just around the corner from our hotel. The name was Rakwet Kanaan and I would highly recommend. Although it is not the most “off the beaten track” restaurant, it’s location, the friendly staff and of course the delicious food really made it the top for us. Continue reading
Sitting at work looking out at the rain outside, feeling completely deflated by the drizzling October weather I decided to take matters into my own hands. That’s it – I must find sunshine!
